Academic Information
Through a varied curriculum, students are challenged to function at competency levels commensurate with their abilities and interests. They are given the responsibility of organizing their time, and they play an active role in obtaining the best education possible. Students meeting specific academic requirements may apply to take courses at Spalding University.
Scholastic Requirements
To receive a diploma from Presentation Academy, a student is required to complete a minimum of 28 credits. Required classes:
Theology - 4 credits
English - 4 credits
Mathematics - 4 credits
Social Studies - 3 credits
Science - 3 credits
Physical Education - ½ credit
Health - ½ credit
Fine Arts - 1 credit
Electives - 8 credits
The following meet the current requirements for the Kentucky Pre-College curriculum. These courses of study are required for unconditional admission to many state universities:
English, 4 credits: English I, II, III, IV
Mathematics, 4 credits: Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, and one other math course
Science, 3 credits: Credits to include: Biology, Physical Science, Chemistry, Ecology, Physics, or AP Biology
Social Studies, 3 credits: Credits to include: U.S. History, Economics, Government, World Geography, and World Civilizations
Health, ½ credit
Physical Education, ½ credit
Fine Arts, 1 credit
Electives, 7 credits: Recommend strongly one or more courses that develop computer literacy
World Language, 2 credits: Spanish
